EXCELLENT JOB SFO AERODRAGON CREW!
We didn't come home with any hardware, but we did accomplish 12th place overall out of 89 teams. For a second year team, we turned some heads! We made it to the Competitive A Division Semi-Finals against Dragon Max Gold, BAD, Roli Canada, Diesel Fish 1 and the Cal Paddling Bears. The only other local team making it this far was LARD Black. Congratulations to Dragon Warriors who won the championship again this year!
THANK YOU to RIPPLE EFFECT who provided us with an amazing FEAST this weekend. Especially the HOT COFFEE that took away the SFO morning chill and the endless supply of Spam Musubi!
Congratulations to the SKIT TEAM --- we took FIRST PLACE for the Out-of-Town Team category. Thanks to Carolyn for putting it together for us.
LUAU POTLUCK at Mike's house in lieu of practice this SAT at 11:30AM. We'll show video of our skit, SFO races and LB races. Bring your favorite luau dish --- RSVP to this Evite.
RASHGUARD costs work out to be $17 for the short-sleeved/ $18 for the long-sleeved versions. Make checks payable to me or exact change PLEASE!

GOOD LUCK to Carolyn and Wila who are leaving AeroDragons. Carolyn will be starting her own team and Wila will be coaching novice and high school teams. We wish them all the best . . .

AeroDragons ---
ANOTHER CHINA RACE scheduled for 1 day on October 23rd in Taipei,Taiwan with the possibility of another race the following weekend --- I'll pass along the details when I get them! We would leave October 20th - CAN ANY OF YOU MAKE THIS RACE DATE FOR CHINA?
NO PRACTICE AT MOTHER'S BEACH THIS WEEKEND. Practices will resume SAT September 3 at 9:30A.

AeroDragons ---
CHINA trip - Dr. Chen says that the Long Yu races are scheduled now for September 23-26. Not October as originally planned. This means AeroDragons would have to fly out Wednesday, Sept. 21st in the evening. This also means we have to start Visa paperwork NOW. I NEED TO KNOW IF ANY OF YOU CAN MAKE THESE DATES (9/21 - 9/26) before we give Dr. Chen a definitive yes or no. He is still trying to see if there is an October trip we can do.
RIVERSIDE race will not happen this year (per Dr. Chen).
WEDNESDAY practices cancelled due to lack of interest . . .
SAT and SUN practices are still on. Please RSVP for days that you will be at practice and make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 9:30A SAT and/or 8:30A SUN.
SAT/SUN PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY FOR THE SFO CREW.
SFO LADIES - Need you at 10AM on SATURDAY to practice with the Guppy ladies . . .
COACH DEE says do 3 sets of 50 push ups & sit ups this week. Also run/walk for 3 miles.

Hey Guys ---
FIRST I'd like to say thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers --- surgery went well and I'm up and hobbling around with Jerry's help (and reallly good drugs!).
THANKS also for the totally cool dragon boat model --- such a thoughtful gift and it will always remind me of what a great bunch of people AeroDragons truly are!
Back to business --- practices as usual this week: WED, SAT and SUN. Please RSVP for days that you will be at practice and make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 5:30P WED (6P ON THE WATER), 9:30A SAT and/or 8:30A SUN. WEDNESDAY PADDLERS - if you're running late and the boat's just left, stick around and we will make a pass by the beach to check for stragglers . . .

GREAT JOB AERODRAGONS!
Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and hard work --- especially the "SuperWomen"who paddled 2 Women's heats, 2 REC heats, the PDBA Masters heat AND the AeroDragons Masters heat all in one day (Cassandra and Judy)!
The Competitive Team was able to win 2nd Place in its Division IIA Finals --- we were the ONLY local team in this heat against the Bay Area Dragons (BAD), Dragon Warriors, Dragon Max, Ripple Fast (all SFO), and TDBA Destiny (Tacoma).

FROM COACH DEE: AERO STRONG
I want to thank all of you for a great weekend. This TEAM TRULY REPRESENTS the word STRONG. You were patient, you were determined, you were confident and most of you were willing to step up to the battle without fear. At any given time we were 20 hearts pumping with one stroke, showing what a team really is.
AERO STRONG.
You should all commend yourselves for a job well done. WE practiced hard, especially with the resistance training and power sets. It only made us grow stronger, not only as individuals but as a group cheering each other on, bringing out that inner strength (your chi).
We not only stepped up to the next level, we leaped up to that level. We just have to look back at where we were last year to see the difference. NOW that we are here, we have to keep on stepping and get even stronger.
CONGRATULATIONS TEAM you make me proud to be a part of this team.

After the DIVIIA finish, while we were still on the water, a couple of teams pointed at us and asked --- "Hey, who are those guys?" --- So . . . we have piqued interest and are starting to make a name for ourselves outside of Long Beach. That means, for those of you AeroDragons signed up for San Francisco 8/27-8/28 . . .
MANDATORY PRACTICE THIS SUN - yes, we need to shave 10 seconds off our time to beat BAD on their home turf. Please come out!
NO PRACTICE WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY.
COACH DEE also says start your 3 sets of 40 push ups and sit ups again --- this week do them on TUES and THUR
