AeroDragons -
Most of us will be at the Lunar New Year Parade this Saturday, but normal practice will still be on for Saturday AM at 9:30 for those of you people who "don't do parades" (like Dee).
Parade people (and anyone else) will practice on Sunday AM --- AeroDragons have a Sunday slot open now at 8:30AM. Plenty of time to paddle before Super Bowl at 3PM so no excuses!
PLEASE RSVP FOR THE DAY(S) YOU'RE COMING and make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 9:30 SAT or 8:30 SUN for practice -
Congrats to one of our paddlers, Major Michael Simmons who accepted a job at the US Embassy in Taiwan --- we now have a place to stay if/when we go to race at the Taiwan Dragon Boat Festival in June - thanks for the offer Mike!

Thanks to Carolyn and Mike for a great practice last Saturday!
Practice this Saturday 1/29 at 9:30AM --- should be partly sunny in the mid-60's. Parade rehearsal following at 11:30AM.
For those of you who want additional practice --- you can join Dee when UCLA practices, Sunday at 10:30AM.
Just a reminder --- please RSVP if you will be attending practice so we have can have an accurate paddler count and prepare for 2 boats if necessary --- thanks in advance!

The water just looked so tempting yesterday. The sun was out, the outriggers were out and Killer Guppies were out . . . and, yes . . . those of us who showed up to "land" practice ended up paddling around the island. The water did look a bit "thick" and there was this sign (below) . . . but that didn't deter us ---
Thanks to Damon for choreographing the parade routine --- AeroDragons, don't forget to practice your "flourishes" in 5, 6, 7, 8 . . . we'll do the routine again on Saturday!

AeroDragons ---
Change in plans. We will have LAND PRACTICE on Saturday at 10AM instead of 9:30AM.
There are unsafe levels of bacteria in the bay and being in the water is not recommended--- so . . bring your running shoes and sweats.
We will still be taking a GROUP PICTURE at 11:30AM so remember your AeroDragons t-shirt and black pants/sweats!

Greetings AeroDragons --- hope you all had a great holiday!
I'd like to welcome our newest AeroDragons from the Terminator team. We are excited that you've chosen us to join and are looking forward to becoming a stronger competitive team in 2005!
PRACTICE THIS SAT
Our next practice will be this Saturday, January 8th at 9:30AM. In case of inclement weather, call my cell at (310) 749-3592 after 8AM for a recorded message on practice status. Call me at (310) 265-7799 if you need to talk to me.
SAVE THE DATES!
Lunar New Year Parade - Saturday, February 5th from 9AM to 12:30PM. Rehearsals will be at Mother's Beach at 11:30AM on 11/22 and 11/29. Uniform will be AeroDragons t-shirt and black long pants/sweats.
Our first race of 2005 will be the Arizona Dragon Boat Festival on March 19th & 20th at Tempe Town Lake. We're planning side trips whitewater river rafting and/or to the Grand Canyon.
AERODRAGON T-SHIRTS
We're starting a new order for more AeroDragon t-shirts; if you need one (basic burgundy men's crew neck), e-mail (meltonm@earthlink.net) me with your size/how many shirts you need.
TSUNAMI DISASTER
Lastly, if you haven't already, don't forget to help those affected in South Asia/East Africa. The CNN Tsunami Aid Site lists all the organizations you can contact to offer financial or other aid.
